Weapon (battleaxe), rare (requires attunement)

Centuries ago, the peatlands of Poordt were terrorized by the bullywug bandit Sjiggo Yserstrot, who rode on the back of a frenzied dire swan. The dire swan was a tempest of honks, froth, and feathers, and it never tired. When Sjiggo and his gang were trialed, it took 14 men to restrain and behead the beast. Even then the dire swan refused to rest, and it possessed the executioner’s axe so that it could rage on beyond death.

You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic axe, Swaenesangh. When you swing it, honks and feathers burst from the blade. It deals an extra 1d4 thunder damage on a hit.

When damage reduces you to 0 hit points while you’re holding Swaenesangh, you can roll a d4. On a 4, you instead drop to 1 hit point, and you can use your reaction to make an attack using this weapon.
