Weapon (greataxe), uncommon (requires attunement)

This repurposed plow blade belonged to Grutte Wiem, a halfling rebel who stood two feet above his people and had the strength of an ox. It is said that Grutte Wiem could hew off both of a man’s legs in a single blow—a tale that earned this weapon the name Cortwiecker.

You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

Crippling Strike

Cortwiecker has 3 charges. When you hit a creature with an attack using it, you can expend a charge to halve that creature’s speed until the end of its next turn. The weapon regains 1d3 expended charges daily at dawn.

Smallfolk’s Champion

Some of Grutte Wiem’s vigor lingers on Cortwiecker. If you are Small, you ignore the weapon’s heavy property.
